Head Acting Instructor, Lead Improv Troupe Director
Beth McDonnell is the founder and CEO of The Company. Beth’s true passion is building the skills and confidence of young artists, and continues to teach on a freelance basis at various venues, including at Pottstown Middle School, Steel River Playhouse and Boys and Girls Club. She has been the head Acting Instructor, Children’s Theatre Coordinator and a Director of Children’s Theater in addition to her roles as a Director of Business Development, Marketing and Sales for PA theaters for 3 years. After teaching both privately and in a classroom setting for years in Chester County, Beth directed a number of children based productions including the sold out hit, “Seussical the Musical Jr”, “Emperor’s New Clothes” and a number of other Jr, TYA or Family Friendly productions. Beth enjoys directing and producing shows that involve a diversity of ages, allowing local youth resident’s opportunities to discover confidence, as they learn technique that will ready them for a professional path if they choose. Most importantly her students and cast members, young and old, grow as performers and individuals, all while making lasting friendships. She attended the prestigious Conservatory at the Chautauqua Theater Company in NY, and is a graduate of the distinguished American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA), after which she spent a decade performing professionally in NYC. Beth studied and specializes in Stanislavsky’s System, which incited the Lee Strasberg method, Stella Adler and Stanford Meisner, all of which she infuses into her directorial and teaching approach, along with Spolin which inspires her well known, personal improvisational style. She performed in numerous professional productions in NYC, and toured along the East Coast.
